A crash involving a deer in McCracken County sent a Paducah teen to the hospital.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened Tuesday at around 7 am along the 2800 block of Cairo Road.

Deputies say 53-year-old Sharon Maples of Paducah was driving when a deer entered the roadway. Maples told deputies she could not avoid the collision and struck the deer, causing enough damage for the airbags to be deployed. A 16-year-old passenger was taken to Lourdes for his injuries.
