Denver Man Faces Additional Gun Charge
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH - A Colorado man arrested and jailed two months ago is now facing an additional charge.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department arrested four people on September 22 after a woman reported a vehicle with a gun inside had been stolen from Country Aire Mobile Home Park.

Paducah residents Jessica Myers, Kassandra Riley and Austin Moore were arrested when the vehicle was found at a convenience store. Devonte Lamont Rodgers of Denver had reportedly left the scene, but was later found at the mobile home park. Deputies said a canine officer found the handgun and over a pound of marijuana, which appeared to have been discarded.

Detectives said Monday they traced the handgun back to the owner, who said it was taken from the vehicle shortly before it was found by officers. Rodgers has now been charged with a felony count of receiving a stolen firearm.

He is still in McCracken County Jail on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, and trafficking in marijuana.

At the time of his arrest, Rodgers was also wanted on two warrants from Colorado.
