Marcus Lemonis, entrepreneur and host of CNBC’s hit reality series The Profit, announced that he has sold his interest in Crumbs, LLC, an entity formed by Lemonis and Fischer Enterprises, owner of Dippin Dots based in Paducah, for the purpose of acquiring the assets of Crumbs Bake Shops out of bankruptcy in late summer 2014.

Crumbs main office is operated out of the Dippin Dots building along Charter Oak Drive in Paducah. The news release did not specify whether the Crumbs cookies, ice cream and candy will remain based in Paducah at the ice cream property.

The cupcake side of the business is expected to remain based in Paducah, according to officials with Fischer Enterprises.

As part of the transaction, Lemonis said in a news release that he has retained the rights to the Crumbs brand as it pertains to the proprietary Crumbs ice cream, cookies and candy products.

According to Lemonis, “Our primary goal was to save the Crumbs brand and the jobs of good people who had worked hard to build the brand and serve its loyal customers with the objective of diversifying the product line.”

Following the acquisition, the primary goal was accomplished according to Lemonis, with Crumbs Bake Shop stores reopening in the northeast, Chicago and Los Angeles markets. Crumbs Cupcakes are also available at the Dippin Dots' Flagship Treatery just off of Hinkleville Road in Paducah.

Lemonis says he is still a strong believer in the need to diversify the array of Crumbs brand products and to further the objective plans to expand the line of Crumbs branded cookies, ice cream and candy. “While I will have no continuing interest or involvement with the Crumbs Bake Shop retail stores or any Crumbs branded products other than cookies, ice cream and candy, I have great ideas and plans to grow the iconic Crumbs brand with an array of new cookies, ice creams and candies,” Lemonis said.

Current plans are for Fisher Enterprises to continue focusing on the operation of the Crumbs Bake Shop retail stores and all products not related to cookies, ice cream and candy.
