Van Fleet Directs Youth Orchestra This Season

PADUCAH, KY - The Paducah Symphony Orchestra announces Doug Van Fleet as the interim conductor for the Paducah Symphony Youth Orchestra for the 2012/2013 season. Van Fleet has an extensive background in music education in Paducah and throughout the region. He is currently the orchestra director at Paducah Tilghman High School, and recently received a Citation of Excellence from the Mayor of Paducah for his outstanding work with young musicians in the area. VanFleet’s ensembles have enjoyed success at music competitions across the United States.

The Paducah Symphony plans to extend the youth string program to include beginning level musicians in a preparatory string ensemble called Sinfonia, under the direction of Patty Story.
