A power outage Thursday afternoon affected about 158 customers in downtown Paducah, and also disrupted traffic flow.

Andrea Underwood with Paducah Power said electricity was restored after 1 hour and 20 minutes, and the problem was isolated to an underground wire between 5th and 7th streets. Crews will still have to make that repair Friday, but were able to flip some switches to make sure everyone has electricity.

Most of the customers affected between 7th Street and the Riverfront were businesses and restaurants. Traffic lights on Broadway also stopped working, so Paducah Police set up four-way stop signs and helped direct traffic until power was restored.
