Driver Injured, Cited in I-24 Rollover Crash

A one vehicle rollover crash Wednesday night injured a Marshall County man and left him facing charges.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened around 7:50 pm on Interstate 24 near Exit 11. Deputies said 67-year-old John Jones of Benton was eastbound on I-24 when for unknown reasons his vehicle began to swerve side to side, then overturned.

Jones was transported to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment of his injuries. Jones was cited at the hospital for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to maintain required insurance.

I-24 was reduced to one lane traffic for approximately 50 minutes for investigation and clean up of the scene.
