Easter Egg Dash at Stuart Nelson Park Thursday
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - The Paducah Parks Services Department's Annual Easter Egg Dash is a race for children to pick up as many eggs as they can after the whistle blows. Bring your Easter baskets or a sack because there will be plenty of eggs to collect. The children will race with their age groups to pick up 13,000 candy filled eggs that are spread across the ball fields. The free event will be Thursday, March 21 at Stuart Nelson Park. Registration begins at 5 pm. Registration also is available online at or at the Parks Services office. Age groups for the Easter Egg Dash are 0-2 years, 3-4 years, 5-7 years, and 8-10 years. Age groups will dash in 15-minute increments beginning with the 0-2 year olds at 5:45 pm. Three prize eggs will be hidden on each field.

Due to the popularity of this event and the number of vehicles expected in Stuart Nelson Park, Park Rangers and Parks Maintenance staff will be directing traffic and managing the parking. The disc golf course and the dog park will be closed on March 21 from 4:30 until 7 pm.

Paducah Parks Services thanks the sponsors for the 2013 Easter Egg Dash: Daymar College and FNB Bank. The City appreciates all the volunteers who will be helping to make this event a success.

If there is inclement weather, a cancellation notification with further instructions including a rate date will be distributed by 2 pm on March 21.
