Election of Pope Increases Argentinian Wine Sales

PADUCAH, KY - The Kentucky News Network reports that sales of Argentinian wine are skyrocketing in Kentucky with this week's election of Pope Francis I, and that appears to be the case in Paducah as well.
The Pontiff, whose name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio, is the first Pope from the Americas. He is 76 years old.
In Paducah, Kane Roberts of Roof Brothers, says that Argentinian wines have always sold well, but he is seeing increased interest, particularly from customers who don't normally purchase wine.
Ruthie Seibert of Wagner Wine and Spirits agrees. Both she and Roberts say they are well-stocked with Argentinian wine, and anticipated an increase in consumer interest and sales with the election of the new Pope.
