Emergency Drill Scheduled Today at Airport

PADUCAH, KY - There will be a mock emergency exercise held this evening at Barkley Regional Airport. Beginning at 6:30 p.m, The drill is expected to last for approximately 3 hours.

The purpose of the exercise is to test the effectiveness of the airport's emergency plan, and is being conducted in coordination with other fire, rescue, law enforcement, and medical organizations that will be participating.

Approximately twelve airport and community organizations and over 125 individuals are scheduled to participate in the exercise.

Federal Aviation Administration regulations require Barkley Regional Airport and other airports that are issued FAA Airport Operating Certificates to hold comprehensive emergency exercises periodically to test emergency plans and community coordination.
