Florida Fugitive Arrested in Paducah

PADUCAH, KY - A Missouri man was taken into custody Sunday in Paducah after he was found in the company of two girls reported missing from Florida.

Police say 22-year-old Ivan Coleman III is charged in a Collier County, Florida warrant with two counts of kidnapping a minor.

Paducah Police were notified just before 7 pm Sunday that the two girls, ages 14 and 15, were believed to be in Paducah with Coleman. Sergeant Steve Smith spotted the car the trio was supposed to be in and stopped it, with assistance from county Coroner Dan Sims, on Hinkleville Road at Coleman Road.

Coleman was arrested as a fugitive from justice in Florida and booked into the McCracken Co. Regional Jail. The Department of Community-Based services took charge of the girls.
