PADUCAH, KY - The American Quilter's Society premieres a second AQS QuiltWeek in Paducah today. It will be held at the Schroeder Expo & Carroll Convention Center through Saturday.

More than 600 quilts will be on display, with more than $120,000 in prizes to be awarded at the event.

In addition, QuiltWeek will host a series of workshops with some of the top talents in the quilt industry, as well as an extensive Merchant Mall comprised of local, national and international vendors.

AQS president Meredith Schroeder said that at the new fall event, the Best of Show award, as well as several other top awards, will be determined by public vote.

AQS has hosted events in Paducah for more than 30 years, with record-breaking attendance since 2014. A 2014 economic survey indicated an economic impact of $25.4 million in Paducah and western Kentucky from QuiltWeek.
