A Farley man has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse after an investigation by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department into allegations of an inappropriate encounter between a man and a minor.
The investigation revealed that 29 year old Leo J. Mayorga, of 2924 Benton Road, had sexual contact with a minor at his home in the early morning hours last Sunday. Police say the teen was incapable of consent not only because of being under the age of 16 but also because the minor was "physically helpless at the time of the offense."
Police say the investigation by detectives ultimately led them to obtain an admission from the suspect concerning the allegations. He was arrested Friday morning on a charge of first-degree sexual abuse, a Class D Felony, which is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
