Five people face drug charges following an investigation by McCracken and Marshall County detectives, and U.S. Marshals.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says detectives stopped a vehicle Tuesday afternoon on Holt Road driven by 22-year-old Tyler Bray of Metropolis. Detectives said they seized more than nine ounces of marijuana and $439 in cash during a search of the vehicle. Bray was arrested on marijuana trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

The next afternoon, detectives stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Seitz and Old Mayfield Road driven by 38-year-old Chastity Tabor of Paducah. Deputies said a police dog smelled illegal drugs coming from the car. During a search, they seized about five grams of crystal methamphetamine, Valium, smoking pipes, scales, $545 in cash and handgun with an obscured serial number. Both Tabor and her passenger, 41-year-old Derek Barnhill, also of Paducah were arrested. Tabor is charged with possession of meth and driving on a suspended license. Barnhill is charged with firearm enhanced trafficking in meth, possession of a handgun by a felon, possession of a defaced firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Later that day, detectives learned 42-year-old Kendrick Malone of Paducah, a federal fugitive from Memphis TN, was staying at a home on Highland Boulevard and selling meth. McCracken and Marshall County Sheriff's detectives and Deputy US Marshals found Malone and Daisy Downen inside the apartment. During a search they seized 102 grams of crystal meth, marijuana, scales, a smoking pipe and $901. Malone was arrested on charges of meth trafficking, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being a fugitive from another state. Downen was cited for possession of meth and released.

Detectives said the seized meth has an estimated street value of more than $10,000.
