Heartland Cares, Inc. is a non-profit, HIV health clinic serving southern Illinois and western Kentucky. A team of its staff and trained volunteers will be on hand to administer mouth swab tests at Hope Unlimited Family Care Center's Paducah office, 1101 Jefferson Street. Testing takes 20 minutes and is available to anyone at any age. Should a person test positively, Heartland Cares will refer that person to its clinic for free follow-up care.
"We want to partner with Hope Unlimited Family Care Center to provide the best options for anonymous testing and open the door for community-wide partnerships," says Heartland Cares Acting Director Donna Reeder.
As an added incentive, those people who come in for testing have two chances to win a $50 gift card.
"This is the first time we're partnering with Heartland Cares on a public health project. We are both very concerned with the physical health of moms, dads, families and the entire community. Both of our organizations have unique services that complement each other. Heartland Cares specializes in HIV testing; Hope Unlimited has other STI testing. On National HIV Testing Day, we'll be a one-stop shop for our community," says Hope Unlimited Family Care Center Executive Director Aida Vega.
Hope Unlimited Family Care Center is a non-profit organization supporting and empowering moms and dads to grow stronger through God's Word. Authentic Manhood empowerment, dignity-through-work, and pornography addiction programs are available. Hope Unlimited Family Care Center also offers pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing, among other free and confidential services.
