PADUCAH, KY - A fugitive from justice was arrested Tuesday night in Paducah after United States Marshalls found him at a McCracken County home.
At around 11:40 pm, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and Kentucky State Police K-9 assisted U.S. Marshalls in apprehending Jackie Whitley, a fugitive from Indiana.
Marshalls tracked 31 year-old Whitley from the Evansville Indiana area to an address on Pool Road in McCracken County.
Whitley was wanted by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Dept on a 2011 warrant related to an Evansville burglary. He had recently led Posey County Sheriff’s Deputies (Near Evansville) on a vehicle pursuit during which he was able to elude deputies and flee into Kentucky.
According to police, Whitley had said “he was not going back to prison” and there was a high likelihood he was in possession of a handgun.
Whitley was found at 2860 Pool Road and taken into custody without incident. He was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail as a fugitive from another state.
