The Paducah Southside Association is hosting a concert Saturday to raise money for the United We Stand water tower mural.

The concert will feature the local band "A Different Sound." Guest speakers include Paducah Mayor George Bray and McCracken County Judge-Executive Craig Clymer.

The event will take place from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Noble Park Amphitheater.

Food will be sold to raise money to complete the project.

The mural will be painted on the water tower across from Confederate Park in Reidland.

County officials believe that people driving along I-24 might not realize the confederate flags in Confederate Park are on private property and perceive the county as divisive or racist.

According to Clymer, the water tower could be recognized as government property, and a unity message displayed on the water tower would show drivers that the city and county are indeed racially inclusive.
