HOGS & Dogs at Reidland-4th & Final This Friday
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - Reidland High School's 4th & Final Hogs 'n' Dogs Night is this Friday, Aug. 24th. This event was modeled after a similar one at SIU in Carbondale and has been a favorite of our community since 2009.  HOGS is the acronym for Harley Owners Group and DOGS is, of course, the Reidland Greyhounds. The school and community come together for the home opener of varsity football at RHS and have a great time.

The event starts with gates opening at 5 this evening.  At 5:45 pm, the popular Lew Jetton and 61 South will entertain the crowd.

Meanwhile, Texas Roadhouse has burgers, hotdogs and BBQ for sale. The Harley owners often meet at Four Rivers Harley Davidson and have a police escort to the football field, where they make their way to the track that surrounds the playing field. The Harley Davidson Motorcycles are on display for the crowd to enjoy during the pregame concert. Just prior to the 'Hounds taking the field for the game, each Harley is fired up and that signature sound rumbles the whole community as the team sprints to their sideline to begin the game.

Ryan Yates, spokesperson for the Reidland Quarterback Club says, "This is the last year for this event due to consolidation, and organizers want to go out with a bang. We want people to know how much this event brings our community together and how much that inspires our players. This year's game is against cross-county rival Heath, so the crowd should be big and the good time even bigger. This is an event that is 100% Reidland. No other high school in our viewing area does anything like this to start their season.  Please play a part in making this the best Hogs 'n' Dogs ever."
