Hearing Set On Closing Old US 60 Near New School

McCracken Fiscal Court has set a date for a hearing on the proposed closing of Old U.S. Highway 60 at the Y intersection with Old Hinkleville Road.

The hearting will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in Courtroom D of the McCracken County Courthouse on Thursday, May 30.

Safety of students driving to the new McCracken County High School is the major reason for the proposal. The intersection, which is on a large curve, was the site of numerous wrecks before the new 4-lane highway was built.

Anyone interested can attend the meeting and voice their opinion.
