Framed copies of the card were recently presented to him during a special presentation at the school December 19. Lee created the patch last year in Brandy Roberts' science class while preparing for his class trip to the Challenger Center to fly a simulated space mission to the moon.
"Eugene's patch shows a rocket ship leaving Earth headed to the moon with the American flag as the rocket exhaust. It's a great representation of the moon mission," said Mellisa Duncan, CLC director.
The cards are sent to the contributors and patrons of the center including teachers, superintendents, legislators, campers, board members and donors. A card is even sent to the White House.
