Local law enforcement is asking for the public's help in solving a burglary.

About 1:00 am on May 18, McCracken County Sheriff's Department received a report of a burglary in the home of Josh Cooper and Susanne Mathews on Acorn Lane. They said they returned home from work during the evening of May 17, and discovered that a safe and its contents were missing. Items in the safe included two handguns, a diamond wedding ring, savings bonds, and a large amount of cash. The couple could not determine how the home had been entered, and deputies found no damage to the home.

Later that morning, Cooper and Mathews discovered that almost everything in the safe had been brought back and left in the front yard. The only items still missing were the diamond ring and the cash.

Anyone with information about this burglary should contact the McCracken County Sheriff's Department at 444-4719 or call CrimeStoppers at 443-TELL.
