Humane Society 'Paws for Celebration' Saturday

If you are looking to adopt a pet, or just want to have a good time enjoying food and other fun activities, the McCracken County Humane Society would like to invite you to its annual "Paws for Celebration" open house on Saturday.

The event will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., and will give attendees the opportunity to meet adoptable animals, get a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, and enter to win raffle baskets and prizes. There will also be live entertainment, food, desserts and refreshments, and activities for kids like bounce houses and face painting.

Sheila Johnston with the humane society encourages everyone to come out and have a good time.

"We like to get as many people in the Humane Society as we can to see what a wonderful operation it is, and what a safe happy place it is for the animals that are waiting for their forever home." She said.

Everyone is invited, and encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Pet owners are asked to leave them at home so they can meet the adoptable pets at the event. 

The McCracken County Humane Society is located at 4000 Coleman Road in Paducah.
