I-24 Collision Sends One to Hospital

A two-vehicle collision on I-24 Wednesday afternoon sent one person to the hospital.

McCracken County Sheriff's deputies responded at approximately 2:00 pm to the crash, near the 8 mile marker. 

Deputies said that 23-year-old Emily Thompson of Paducah had slowed to avoid a tire that was in the roadway, and her vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle 20-year-old Fletcher Boarman of Whitesville, Kentucky.

Boarman's passenger, 20-year-old Emily Glowicki, of Mt. Vernon, IL, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Eastbound traffic was backed up more than four miles at times while the accident was cleared.
