I-24 Crashes Involve 5 Cars, 2 Injuries

MCCRACKEN COUNTY - Two people were hospitalized after two separate crashes on I-24 Thursday afternoon near Paducah.

McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies were called at 2:00 pm to a single-vehicle rollover crash at mile marker 14. An eastbound vehicle driven by 16-year-old Addie O'Brian of Benton encountered a steering malfunction, causing it to overturn on the right shoulder of the road.

In the traffic congestion caused by the rollover, a separate multi-vehicle crash occurred, involving 21-year-old Christina Boyd of Mount Juliet, TN, 66-year-old Paulette Spiva of Grand Rivers, 63-year-old Shawn Coltharp of Paducah, and 33-year-old Michael Crean of Chicago.

O'Brian and Boyd were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
