PADUCAH, KY - A southern Illinois woman suspected of stealing more than $4,000 from the Paducah's Sam's Club earlier this month has been arrested.

Paducah Police say 42-year-old Veronica S. Stout of Herrin was arrested by Herrin authorities around noon Wednesday.

Paducah Police Detective Anthony Copeland said Stout is charged in the warrant with stealing pet supplies and computer equipment valued at more than $4,000 from the business, located behind Kentucky Oaks Mall, on April 15.

Copeland says Stout has been identified as a suspect in more than ten similar thefts at Sam's Club and Wal-Mart locations in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee. The total amount of the thefts since October 2012 is estimated at $15,000.

Copeland's investigation led him to the online auction site, "Ebay." Records were obtained from Stout's account and Copeland was able to identify allegedly stolen items currently for sale on Stout's account.

A search of Stout's home was conducted on Wednesday, where authorities seized allegedly stolen merchandise, including computers and an automobile.

Stout is being held in the Williamson County Jail.
