Members of Independence Bank along with Paducah city officials will dedicate “Independence Park” to the community tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 4 pm. The park is located on the corner of Lone Oak Road and Alben Barkley Drive. The site was originally intended for the bank’s two-story signature location, which has now been built just past Independence Park where Broadway turns into Buckner Lane. After community members expressed concerns about the property being used for commercial purposes, the bank decided to donate the land to the City and build a park for the community and nearby residents to enjoy.

Kelly Sanders-Dye, with Sanders Nursery is responsible for the design of Independence Park while Chris Black, with Ray Black & Son was the principal contractor overseeing the construction of the project.

Now that Independence Park is complete, the community is invited to join Independence Bank and city officials at a reception and dedication ceremony at Independence Park starting at 4 pm on Wednesday, October 30.
