Jefferson at 14th Street Closed for Sewer Work
By City of Paducah
PADUCAH, KY - City of Paducah Engineering-Public Works crews and a contractor will be working to repair a storm sewer line that crosses Jefferson Street at North 14
th Street starting this morning. The work will require the closure of Jefferson Street at North 13
th Street.
Traffic will be forced to turn at 13
th to avoid the work zone. North 14
th Street will be closed between Broadway and the alley just south of Monroe Street. Residents who live in the area will be able to access their homes.
The work involves the cutting of the pavement across Jefferson Street, the repairing of the storm sewer, and the filling of the area around the storm sewer with a flowable fill material. Work will take a couple of days, weather permitting.
In the evenings, Jefferson Street will be open to traffic with a metal plate across the trench. After the flowable fill material completely cures, which will take approximately one week, Jefferson Street will be closed again to allow for the pavement to be repaired.
