PADUCAH, KY - A public meeting tonight will discuss the widening of North Friendship Road in McCracken County. The "come-and-go" meeting will be at Lone Oak Elementary School from 5 to 7 pm.

The scheduled discussion is part of a planning study being conducted by The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. District 1 Cheif Engineer Jim LeFevre says the agency is seeking input for long-range planning.

"We're initiating a planning study to identify transportation needs and conceptual improvement alternatives along KY 1286/North Friendship Road and KY 998/Olivet Church Road from US 45 through to US 60. We would like to emphasize that this is a planning study and that no construction activities are planned at this time. We're seeking public input on what, if any, improvements should be considered along this corridor."

The transportation cabinet is requesting that all concerned citizens, local officials and representatives of public agencies attend the meeting, review displays and voice opinions concerning the proposed project.

LeFevre added that the meeting will be "come and go", so those interested may attend anytime from 5 to 7 pm. There will be exhibits containing project information on display. Representatives from KYTC and consultants from the planning study will be available to answer questions.

The cabinet will accept oral and written statements during the meeting. Written statements will be accepted, and information made available for 15 days after the public meeting at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet-Department of Highways, 5501 KY Dam Road, Paducah, KY 42003.All comments, written and verbal, will become a part of official record.
