A kitchen stove fell off a truck on I-24 Thursday morning, causing a four-vehicle crash with injuries.

Paducah Police said 70-year-old Johanna DeNoo of St. Petersburg, FL told officers she was driving west when she saw a kitchen stove sitting in the roadway. DeNoo told police she couldn't avoid hitting the stove. A car driven by 21-year-old Hailey Malorey of Augusta, GA was able to stop in time, but was hit in the rear by a car driven by 48-year-old William Collins of Vienna. Collins’ vehicle was hit in the rear by an SUV driven by 62-year-old Barry Travis, of Boaz.

Collins and Travis were taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment. Traffic on the interstate was slowed for several hours after the collision.

Police said the stove fell off of a truck owned by Yates Delivery, a subcontractor for Home Depot. The driver of the truck said he drove to Metropolis before realizing the stove was missing.
