PADUCAH - A man charged in a 2019 shooting and robbery in Paducah was in court last week.

The McCracken County Circuit Court Clerk says David Knight Jr. appeared before Judge Tony Kitchen on Friday. Kitchen set Knight's pretrial conference for Jan. 17 of next year.

Knight, the son of McCracken County Jailer David Knight, was arrested in Jan. 2019 on first-degree assault and robbery charges. Police said he shot 20-year-old Darrius Wesley near 10th and Greer Street during a drug deal gone bad.

Tyrese Jones is also facing a first-degree assault charge related to the incident.
