BENTON, KY - Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area is closing down the target range at Golden Pond on Wednesday mornings for cleanup.
 
Recreation program manager Gary Hawkins says the range is popular with visitors and workers need time to mow and pick up trash and leftover shells.
 
Officials there are also encouraging assistance from the public by disposing of litter and spent shells.   LBL says the target range was updated in 2010 and is almost twice as long as before.
 
The archery range will remain open during target range closures.
