A LaCenter man was hurt Thursday morning in a crash on US 60.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded at around 6:20 a.m. to a crash in the area of US 60 and Wren Road. The investigation reportedly showed 23-year-old Michael Kester of LaCenter was traveling east on US 60, when he stopped for a west bound McCracken county school bus that was loading children.

While Kester was stopped, his car was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Derek Turner of Paducah. The impact from the collision knocked Kester’s car of the north shoulder of the highway. Turner's vehicle came to rest in the ditch on the south side of the highway.

Kester was taken to a local hospital for treatment. US highway 60 was restricted to one lane for about an hour after the crash.
