Baptist Health Paducah is still in third place on the final day of the national Pink Glove Dance video contest, according to the contest website.

Supporters can vote once more today from each of their e-mail accounts at www.PinkGloveDance.com through midnight tonight.

Votes can also be cast for local videos from Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, and the Marion (Illinois) VA Center.

If it wins national prize money, Baptist Health Paducah has designated the Kentucky Cancer Program’s Horses and Hope program as its beneficiary to help all Kentucky women.

Jamie Smith, a cancer control specialist with the Kentucky Cancer Program, said, “Each vote is important because it raises awareness for mammograms, which can save lives. “That’s the ultimate goal of this project, and it will just be a bonus if we get enough votes to bring prize money to Kentucky to improve education and screening services.”

This year’s video features firefighters, EMS and police from 12 public safety agencies dancing alongside doctors, nurses and staff on the hospital campus, as well as at Paducah Police headquarters and a Paducah fire station. It stars 24 breast cancer survivors who dance to the American Authors’ hit song “Best Day of My Life.” To define the best day of their lives, many of the survivors wrote the dates they were considered cancer-free. Some of them wrote EVERY DAY, and others wrote TODAY to signify the joy in living each moment.
