Another fun evening is scheduled as Paducah Parks Services partners with the Big Brown Truck Pull for the final LIVE on the RIVER event for this summer on Saturday, August 1, 6-9 pm in downtown Paducah.

The City is partnering with the Big Brown Truck Pull and Special Olympics for an evening that will include the truck pull, music and dance performances, and plenty of activities for the kids.

All of the entertainment is free.

Carriage rides will be available for a fee.

Parks Services Special Events Coordinator Molly Tomasallo says, “We are excited to partner once again with Big Brown and the Special Olympics--last year was a huge success.  Bringing the truck pull and LIVE on the RIVER together gives folks the opportunity to experience downtown, have free entertainment, and support a great cause. Coordinating the activities makes so much sense because the enthusiasm and excitement about both events will make for a wonderful evening to be in downtown Paducah.”

The Big Brown Truck Pull involves teams of 15 raising money for Special Olympics by vying to see which team can pull a loaded U.P.S. 18-wheeler 12 feet in the shortest time.  Each team raises a minimum of $1000 to participate with proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics.  The 2014 event raised more than $35,000.

Details about the Big Brown Truck Pull can be found online: http://www.soky.org/paducahtruckpull.htm#.VbJgn9JVhBc

In addition to the Big Brown Truck Pull which starts with the opening ceremony at 6 pm, attendees can enjoy Adam and the H Bombs from 7 until 9 pm as well as other musical and dance performances. Plus, there will be Adrenaline Laser Tag, a free craft by Better Than Ever, Animal Tales, Jim Stott Magic Show, twisty balloons, and much more.

During LIVE on the RIVER, Broadway is closed from 3rd Street to Water Street with entertainment along and around Broadway to the river.  Broadway will close at 3:30 pm on Saturday, August 1 at 3rd Street and Kentucky Avenue will close from 3rd Street to 2nd Street at that time.  Water Street between Kentucky and Jefferson and a large portion of the downtown parking lot will close at approximately 6 am Saturday for set up. The City would appreciate it if cars and trucks would not park in the downtown parking lot after 3:30 pm.
