Livingston County Man Charged with Rx Fraud
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH, KY - A Livingston County man who police say posted photographs of stolen, blank prescription forms on his social media page was arrested when he attempted to pick up pain-killers ordered on one of the forms.

Paducah Police said they received information Friday that 30-year-old Jonathon McGuire had posted pictures on a social media site of more than half a dozen prescription blanks lying in someone’s lap. Police sent a fax to Paducah pharmacies, notifying them that the blanks had been stolen from a Hopkinsville doctor.

Within an hour,  police got word that one of the blanks had been dropped off at a local pharmacy. It was written for Lortab pain-killers and made out to McGuire’s girlfriend. Police set up surveillance near the pharmacy and, a short time later, saw McGuire in the drive-through lane picking up the prescription.
Police stopped McGuire’s vehicle, and arrested McGuire on a charge of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, false statement or forgery. He was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
