Paducah gas prices keep falling this summer, and are starting to find their way into the 1.80s here as well as St. Louis and Nashville.

Gasoline prices in Kentucky fell half a cent per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.12 on Sunday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3 cents per gallon to $2.25, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Yesterday's Kentucky price was 17 cents per gallon lower than one year ago.

In Paducah, prices can be found for as low as $1.90.  Kroger comes in at 1.89 if you have a perks card.  The majority of stations around Paducah are now under two dollars.

The latest prices in Murray were at $1.91; Benton 1.94; and Mayfield 1.98.

Cape Girardeau was at $1.92, St. Louis had 1.82, and the cheapest in the region was reported in Nashville at 1.80.

"As motorists pack their cars in preparation for the July 4 holiday, it's amazing that we're staring at some of the cheapest prices of the year," said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.

"The downward momentum has continued and may do so again this week, so long as there's no sudden reversal in the price of crude oil."
