County Officials Call for Zoning Investigation
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden, County Attorney Michael Murphy, and Commonwealth Attorney Dan Boaz, released a joint statement Wednesday afternoon, calling for an investigation from Attorney General Jack Conway's office into recent rezoning of property in McCracken County. The rezoning has come under scrutiny due to an alleged lack of properly implementing the changes.

The statement reads as follows:

"All three of our offices agree that an investigation by an outside agency would best serve the public's interest in this matter, and have made an official request for an investigation to the Kentucky Attorney General late this afternoon", said Sheriff Jon Hayden.

"There have been no official requests made to the sheriff's department or complaints filed as of today, but this office has received several telephone calls from concerned residents of the county. The County Attorney and Commonwealth Attorney have both been involved in a preliminary inquiry into this matter. All information gathered is being forwarded to the Attorney General's Office for their review."
