The number of people affected by the death of 18-year-old Carson Oakley keeps growing.

Just a month before her high school graduation, Oakley passed away Friday morning, following a single-car accident the previous morning. She died at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville as a result of her injuries.

Numerous friends have posted comments and messages on Facebook pages for Carson, her mother, and other social media forums. Many of those comment on Carson's positive attitude and beautiful smile. A makeshift memorial has also sprung up along the fence where the accident happened, with flower arrangements, a cross and photographs of the long-haired brunette.

Oakley was a senior at Lone Oak High School, and a member of the swim team.

Sheriff Jon Hayden expressed thanks on behalf of the family for everyone's thoughts and prayers following the accident. Carson’s organs are being donated in hopes of helping someone in need.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Ben Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. You may leave a message of sympathy or light a memorial candle at www.milnerandorr.com.
