By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - A Lone Oak man was arrested Saturday afternoon after McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies found over 50 marijuana plants growing in a trailer park.

Deputies Chaw Shaw and Seargant Jared Rivera received a tip that marijuana was being grown at the trailer park located at 3553 Clinton Road in McCracken County. When they arrived at the location shortly after 4:00 Saturday, they observed several plants growing behind one of the mobile homes. Their investigation revealed that the mobile home belonged to 61-year-old Lowell "Bruce" Lawrence.

After taking Lawrence into custody, deputies searched the property and found 23 marijuana plants growing outside the residence, with some of the plants reportedly being over ten feet tall. A search of the trailer's interior led deputies to a room that contained several grow lights, fertilizer, soils and an additional 29 pot plants. Deputies also located and seized a firearm and assorted drug paraphernalia from inside the mobile home.

The investigation revealed that Lawrence had been growing marijuana at the trailer for approximately one year. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $52,000.

Lawrence was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail for cultivation of marijuana (a class "D" felony), possession of drug paraphernalia, and wanton endangerment in the 2nd degree. The wanton endangerment charge stemmed from the marijuana plants being visible and easily accessible to the children who also live in the trailer park.
