Lourdes Iron Mom Race Nets $25,000 for Charity

PADUCAH, KY - The 2nd annual Lourdes Paducah Iron Mom Half-Marathon raised $25,000 for the Family Service Society, an increase of 25% from 2011. The event, held in May, showcased Paducah to more than 724 runners from 17 different states. Last year’s race raised $20,000.
Family Service Society is a not for profit agency serving as a crisis resource to the residents of Paducah/McCracken County by providing assistance with food, clothing, medications, utilities and dental.
Pam Truitt, Executive Director of Family Service Society stated, “We are grateful to Lourdes, the members of the Iron Mom Committee and all of our community partners for organizing such a fantastic event. In challenging economic times, more families seek our services for support. We are thankful to be able to use the funds from this event to meet their needs.”
