Observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday concludes today in Paducah after a weekend of events.

The highlight on Monday is the Paducah/McCracken Co. Branch of the NAACP's Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. luncheon at the Robert C. Cherry Civic Center at 11:30 am. Keynote speaker for the luncheon will be Rev. Babydoll Kennedy, Pastor of Burkes Chapel A.M.E. Church. Tickets are $20 each and $5 for students, and can be obtained by calling 270-519-8408, or can be purchased at the door.

Another annual event is the “March to the Monument," which will begin at 10 am from the Robert Cherry Civic Center. The Paducah Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is the officiating organization for the “Laying of the Wreath” Ceremony at the monument.

NAACP “Life is What You Make It, Problems & Preparations” Youth Workshop & Pizza Party featuring Dr. Anton Reece, WKCTC - 2 pm 

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Service” at Ninth Street Tabernacle - Rev. Donna Hawkins - 7 pm
