MURRAY, KY - Adults in the Paducah/McCracken County area have an opportunity to begin a higher education program close to home that can be completed in as little as 16 months. Offered by Murray State University at its Paducah Regional Campus, Integrated Studies/Organizational Communication fast-track cohort begins this fall.
The Integrated Studies program is designed for individuals with previous college credit and/or significant life experience. The program has flexible degree requirements and alternative methods of earning additional credits, all while allowing the student to create his or her own field of study emphasis. Murray State’s Integrated Studies program is a practical, convenient way to earn a career-enhancing degree.
“For working adults who must balance time with their families and careers, this program accommodates those busy schedules while providing high quality education. Students will develop professional competencies to take their careers to the next level. It is important for employees and employers to consider quality, and this cohort ensures graduates will be prepared for the workforce,” said Dr. Brian Van Horn, dean of the MSU Center for Continuing Education and Academic Outreach.
Widely applicable to many career paths, organizational communication classes teach students how to assess communication problems, design communication processes and improve communication quality to help organizations succeed. Organizational communication graduates have careers in fields as varied as sales and marketing, training and development, public relations, management, law and more.
In the Paducah program, students receive valuable classroom experience with one night class per week for four semesters. The balance of the curriculum is conveniently taught through online courses.
Employers of organizational communication graduates include Sony, Verizon Wireless, TVA, Kentucky State Police, State Farm Insurance, AT&T and BB&T Bank.
