The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce has announced Dr. Bob Davies, the new President of Murray State University, will be the featured speaker for the Power in Partnership Breakfast on September 4 at 7:30 am. The event will be held at the Julian Carroll Convention Center.

Dr. Davies began his official duties as the 13th President of Murray State on July 14. Since then he has been busy acclimating himself to the university and to the region.  He has visited Murray State’s off campus sites including spending a day in Paducah on July 30.  

Prior to joining Murray State, Dr. Davies had served as the president of Eastern Oregon University. He was vice president for university relations at Indiana University of Pennsylvania prior to accepting the presidency of Eastern Oregon in 2009.      

Davies has authored numerous papers and given many presentations throughout the country on university leadership in subjects as diverse as the college cost crisis, advancement, nontraditional alumni and students, strategy development in higher education and academic master planning and financial management.  

The Chamber says if you are not a Chamber Power Card holder, but still want to go, you will need to make your reservations by 5 pm Tuesday, September 2 by calling 270-443-1746 or by email at: info@paducahchamber.org.  The cost to attend is $15 dollars.
