A Paducah man has been arrested after a burglary investigation.

According to the Paducah Police Department, a caller reported being awakened by someone standing in the doorway to their bedroom at 3 AM on the 2500 block of Madison Street.

The caller said his family had been awakened by a man in their home, informing officers that he had chased the man through the kitchen, with the man then jumping from the window.

During the investigation, Paducah Police K-9 'Don' was brought out to track down the suspect. The suspect, which was identified as Gil Askew, was located at his residence on Fountain Avenue at around 6 AM.

Askew is on the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry list and has previous convictions for rape and sexual abuse.
