PADUCAH, KY - A man seeking medical care at a Paducah hospital, told deputies he “blacked out” while driving there Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to an injury accident on US 45 near the intersection of Krebbs Station Road in Paducah around 4:43 am.

McCracken Deputies say 33-year-old Michael Weatherford of Paducah was traveling north on US 45. Weatherford told deputies he was on his way to a hospital, seeking medical attention for severe headaches. He says he “blacked out” just before the accident and has no recollection of the crash.

Weatherford's car left the roadway, slid down an embankment and hit several small trees before stopping in the tree line along US 45.

Mercy Regional EMS transported Weatherford to Lourdes Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The accident blocked one lane of US 45 for about an hour while deputies conducted an investigation and cleaned up the scene.
