A single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning resulted in injuries and charges against the driver.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened about 2:30 am in the 3700 block of Hardmoney Road. Deputies say 23-year-old Joshua Hartman of Paducah was eastbound when he lost control of his pickup truck, which left the road and struck a tree.

Hartman was extricated from the vehicle by Hendron Fire Department and taken to Baptist Health Paducah by Mercy EMS for treatment of his injuries.

The Sheriff's Department says alcohol is believed to have contributed to the crash. Because he was injured, Hartman was cited to court on charges of DUI 1st offense, no vehicle registration or insurance, and criminal mischief 3rd degree.

Jason's Towing assisted at the scene.
