Market House Now Streaming 'Making God Laugh'
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH - The Market House Theatre is presenting "Making God Laugh" for the next two weekends, with an option for those who want to stream if they can't attend in person.

After rehearsing and getting everything ready, McCracken County's COVID-19 incidence rate went into the red zone, so live performances have had very limited attendance. However, they planned ahead by arranging to film the show last week so it could be streamed.

Information at the link below explains how to sign up using "Broadway on Demand" to watch the stream for $25.95 - with $22 going directly to the theatre. Another link below features Director Michael Cochran demonstrating how to navigate through the sign-up process and discussing another upcoming presentation.

About the show (from MHT website):
There is a quote that says “God laughs at the plans we make” and we couldn’t think of a better show to open our season during this changing time. This comedy follows one typical American family over the course of forty years' worth of holidays. Starting in 1980, Ruthie and Bill's grown children -- a priest, an aspiring actress, and a former football star -- all return home, where we learn of their plans and dreams as they embark on their adult lives. The empty-nester parents contend with their own changes, too, as old family rituals are trotted out and ancient tensions flare up. As time passes, the family discovers that, despite what we may have in mind, we often arrive at unexpected destinations.
