PADUCAH, KY - Market House Theatre (MHT) will host a Masquerade Ball on Saturday, October 20, at 6:30 pm in the River Ballroom at the Julian M. Carroll Convention Center.
“We are excited to provide a signature event that displays the creativity and artistic sides of our community,” said Melisa Mast, MHT board president.
“Last year, we saw over 200 people come out in fabulous costumes. Many decorated their tables to coordinate with the event’s theme. Everything they did went to support the many good works of Market House Theatre.”
Guests are encouraged to dress in costume representative of the theme, from Broadway to Hollywood. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes and most creative table decorations. Rent a costume from Creatures of Habit and portion of the sale will benefit the Theatre’s Children’s Programming. Festive masks will also be available for purchase at the event.
“Over 11,000 youth from 6 counties receive training and instruction subsidized by fundraising from this event,” said Michael Cochran, MHT Executive Director. ‘These students receive classes in their school classroom, from MHT Education Director, April Cochran. We use theatre as a teaching tool for history, science, and language arts. In addition, theatre is a teaching tool which develops self confidence and the ability to communicate ideas more effectively.”
Sponsors of the Masquerade Ball include Beltline Electric Company, Inc.; Bohle Family Dentistry & Dr. Chip Bohle; Renaissance Plastic Surgery; Jim Smith Contracting Company, LLC; Wacker Polymers and Williams/Ogden Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. Catered by Laura Duff’s Pampered Palate.
