McCracken Accidents Injure Three Men Monday
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - Three men were injured in two separate traffic accidents less than an hour apart Monday in McCracken County.

Sheriff's deputies were first sent to US 62/Reidland Road at 1pm Monday in response to a rollover accident. Officers say 18-year-old Alex Colley of Mayfield was driving east on Reidland Road and attempted to turn right onto KY 131. He was told by his passenger, 45-year-old Dale Carr, also of Mayfield, that he should turn left onto KY Dam Road.

Colley overcorrected, causing the truck to overturn and slide up the roadway approximately thirty feet before striking a guard rail and stopping.

Both lanes of eastbound traffic were diverted onto KY 131 for two hours while the roadway was cleared.

Colley and Carr were taken by ambulance to Lourdes Hospital for treatment.

Another accident in Lone Oak caused a LaCenter man to be sent to Western Baptist Hospital for treatment.

McCracken County Sheriff's deputies say 71-year-old Larry Moss was test driving a utility vehicle from a golf cart business and was situated in the parking lot of Parker's Drive-In.  He apparently pressed the gas pedal rather than the brake and entered traffic on Lone Oak Road, crashing into an SUV being operated by 60-year-old Gerald Vicars of Mayfield. Moss was thrown from the buggy and hit the pavement.

He was taken to Western Baptist for treatment of head injuries.

No one in the Vicar's SUV was injured.
