McCracken County Public Schools has been awarded $110,000 in grant funding for the district’s Project Lead The Way programs.

According to a MCPS news release, the Kentucky Department of Education posted grant awards Friday morning for PLTW Engineering programs and PLTW Biomedical programs at McCracken County High School and the district’s middle schools. MCPS is one of two districts statewide to receive PLTW funding for Engineering, and is one of four districts to receive Biomedical funds. The grant money will provide laboratory equipment, computers, computer software and more to continue implementing PLTW and its STEM curriculum.

At the high school and middle school levels, MCPS has 1,122 students enrolled in PLTW courses, learning and engaging in hands-on STEM lessons of the highest quality. MCPS Director of Public Relations Jayme Jones said the district is thrilled to receive funding that helps continue its high level of resources and instruction in such an important academic area.
