McCracken Drug Investigation Nets Two Arrests

An investigation by the McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division led to the arrests of two men Tuesday on various charges.

Deputies said they stopped 27-year-old Ralph A. Gaines Jr., of Paducah and 27-year-old Scott L. Bybee, of Lexington on North 10th Street at around 2:30 pm. During the investigation detectives seized about 16 grams of cocaine, marijuana, a digital scale, and money they believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales. 

The two men were also reportedly smoking marijuana in the vehicle while driving with a two year old child. 

Gaines is charged with trafficking in cocaine greater than 4 grams 2nd offense, trafficking in cocaine less than 4 grams 2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence. Bybee is charged with operating a motor vehicle on an expired license, failure to use child restraint device, wanton endangerment, and trafficking in Marijuana less than eight ounces.
